What is System Security 2009?

System Security 2009, also called as System Security Version 4.52, might be the most rogue security application on the internet. This fake anti-spyware disguises as a legitimate Windows Security Center, and provides deceitful security alerts. Through continuously annoying pop ups, it tries to lure victims to purchase a full real-time protection. DON’T fall for the trap. There is no such protection from System Security. It might make your life even worse with a credit card fraud. After infected with this scareware, your wallpaper will be altered to a blank threat as well.

Step-by-Step System Security Removal Instructions

Attention: Most likely System Security will stop running multiple Window tools such as Task Manager, System Configuration Utility (msconfig.exe), or Registry Editor (regedit.exe). Then the only solution to remove this malware is under Window Safe Mode. Safe Mode can bypass suspicious startup files, and keep computer clean from start, hence make it possible to fix any problems. Hitting F8 while restart computer to enter Safe Mode. If you have to run from Safe Mode, the first step can be skipped.

Step 1. Stop System Security Processes

1. Press Alt+Ctrl+Delete to open Windows Task Manager

2. Click Processes tab, choose to stop a process named 16356564.exe. This is a randomly generated filename. Yours might be a different number.

Step 2. Delete System Security Directory

1. Delete directory C:\Documentss and Settings\All Users\Application Data\16356564\.

2. Empty Recycle Bin as well.

Step 3. Disable System Security from Starup

1. Click Start > Run > type msconfig > OK to load System Configuration Utility

2. Click Starup tab, uncheck 16356564 (the same number you saw in step 2) to disable System Security.

Step 4. Remove System Security Registry Entries

1. Click Start > Run> type regedit > OK to load Registry Editor

2. Find and delete following System Security registry entries

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\systemsecurity
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\systemsecurity2009

Warning: Be careful about using Registry Editor. If you delete something else, it might cause other problems. It’s advised to backup Registry Table before deleting anything.

What’s Next?

After finish the above four steps, restart your computer to see if System Security comes back. If it does not, then congratulations, your computer is now free of this annoying malware. To avoid further infection with this scareware, or many other ongoing generating malwares, you might need a new anti-virus or anti-malware software.
